about us

Founded in 1960, Pefco has established itself as the epicenter of electrical innovation in Quebec. Our history, shaped by creativity, reliability and dedication, is the very soul of our company.

history

In the 1970s, Pefco became heavily involved in power line construction, contributing to the extra-high voltage transmission network. With around 30 full-time employees dedicated to meeting this crucial demand, Pefco supplied robust transmission line parts that are still in use today. Today, Pefco's expertise has diversified to encompass the transmission, distribution, industrial and commercial sectors. The company continues to play a vital role in the supply of high-quality electrical components, remaining at the forefront of innovation.

Rodolphe Léo Payer - until 2015

Rodolphe Léo Payer, electrical engineer, received his bachelor's degree in 1948 and his master's degree in 1952 from the University of New Brunswick. He began his career with Alcan, where he helped build the Kemano-Kitimat power line. In 1960, he founded Pefco, establishing an influential company in the Quebec and Canadian electrical industry.

Guillaume Boisvert - since 2018

Guillaume Boisvert, President of Pefco since 2018, has been involved with the company since a young age. He became involved with Pefco at the age of 12. Under the supervision of the founder's son Mr. Robert Payer, he acquired an in-depth knowledge of the company's values and operations.

His academic background in mechanical engineering reflects his commitment to technical quality. His relationship with his grandfather, Rodolphe Léo Payer, strengthened his attachment to the company's family and business values.

heritage

Guillaume learned three fundamental concepts from his grandfather:

  • Basic rules established by Hydro-Québec and Alcan for electrical compression fittings, and crimping dies
  • Metal metallurgy, in particular the choice of suitable aluminum alloys for different applications.
  • The importance of selecting the right materials for each application, for both insulation and conductors, without compromising on quality.

Our identity goes far beyond being a manufacturer of electrical connectors. We are the passionate architects of sustainable, reliable and responsible energy. This distinctive identity evolves across several crucial dimensions, shaping our presence in the electrical industry.
